you just moved to a new town and the lastthing you're thinking about is your car insurance. my name is james burrows with the resurgencegroup, we're a full service insurance agency and we specialize in auto insurance. todaywe're talking about if you move to a different town and you have a different zipcode, how'sit going to affect my car insurance? well, believe it or not, different towns, differentstates, all have different ways of calculating their premiums. you know, there's some goodneighborhoods and maybe sometimes there aren't as good neighborhoods. cars are really stolenin very specific zipcodes, and that's the challenge when it comes to how you calculateyour premiums. so when you move, the first thing you have to do, you actually have thirtydays, is to call your insurance agent or call
that carrier and tell them the zipcode andthe address that you moved to and they're going to recalculate your premiums. sometimesit advantageous because it, you know, you're going to get a discount, other times you'regoing to pay a bit of a premium. either way you want to make sure that you're properlyinsured because the last thing you want to be doing is paying premiums and then findout after an accident you don't have the right coverage because of something as simple asyou did not have the authorization to have that vehicle in that zipcode on a permanentbasis. if you were traveling it would be no problem, but if you're living somewhere elseother than where it says that vehicle is registered, then they're probably going to decline thatclaim. my name is james with the resurgence
group, we specialize in auto insurance andthe one thing that we recommend is if you're confused about insurance just go to your localagent, sit down with them, explain what it is that you're trying to accomplish and they'dbe happy to help you.
